He angitūtanga | About the role:

A unique opportunity has presented itself for a Junior Lawyer to join our in-house legal team.

The Corporate Lawyer (Junior) provides legal advice and support to the organisation in a range of areas including Māori land law, trusts law, the law of estates, contract law, and litigation and dispute resolution. This position will suit someone who enjoys variety, thrives working collegially in a small team and is passionate about protecting and enhancing whenua Māori.

He kōrero mou | What we are looking for:

  • One to two-years post admission experience, gained in-house or in private practice
  • A current practising certificate
  • Preferably Māori land law experience
  • Very good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Sound judgment
  • Ability to manage own time, and prioritise tasks effectively
  • An affinity and respect for tikanga Māori
