Ministry for the Environment seeking feedback on RM reform

Consultation: Resource Management reforms and Māori Rights and Responsibilities in Freshwater

The Government is currently consulting on the document - Our future resource management system: Te pūnaha whakahaere rauemi o anamata.

Feedback from this document will be an input to Ministers decisions on a range of matters including:

  • How Te Oranga o te Taiao is specified in legislation,
  • The role of Māori in the reformed resource management system, and
  • Whether or not the legislation includes clauses and options to preserve and protect Māori rights and responsibilities in freshwater.

You can make a submission on this document to the Ministry for the Environment.

Submissions close on 28 February, but will be accepted until 4 March 2022.
