Te Tumu Paeroa

Ko Te Tumu Paeroa tēnei, te kaitiaki, kaitaunaki, kaiwhakawhanake i te mana o ngā whenua Māori, huri noa.

So that the foundations of ancestral lands may be solid, benefitting Māori from our past, present and future alike. This is Te Tumu Paeroa, guardian, support and advancer of the mana of Māori land everywhere.

Our role is to provide professional trustee services for Māori. We do this by carrying out the terms of trusts and ensuring the whenua is protected and enhanced for future generations.


He angitūtanga: About the Role

We’re looking for a highly organised and driven Kaituitui Hui me te Pūtea Tautoko | Events and Sponsorship Coordinator to join our Ratonga Whakapāho | Communications Team.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll take the lead on coordinating and delivering high-quality events and sponsorships that reflect the values and mana of Te Tumu Paeroa. From planning through to on-the-day delivery, you’ll help bring our kaupapa to life and ensure we show up strongly for owners of whenua Māori, our stakeholders and communities.

We’re still relatively new to the events space so you’ll have the opportunity to make the role your own—bringing fresh ideas, improving how we work, and helping us deliver even better outcomes.

Ngā kawenga matua: Key responsibilities

The main responsibilities for this role include:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of events, including planning, timelines/run sheets, logistics, delivery and post-event follow-up.
  • Coordinate suppliers and vendors, including venues, catering, travel, accommodation, technology and printing.
  • Manage sponsorship deliverables, ensuring commitments are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Represent Te Tumu Paeroa at events, supporting set-up, on-the-day coordination and pack-down.
  • Champion our brand, ensuring consistency across events, merchandise and corporate clothing.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.

 

What we are looking for

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident juggling multiple workstreams at once.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience coordinating events or similar projects end-to-end
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to keep people informed and manage expectations
  • Experience working with Māori organisations, communities or kaupapa is highly valued
  • A good understanding of tikanga Māori or a willingness to learn and grow in this space
