He angitūtanga: About the Role:
The Mātanga Hangarau Whakaaturanga | Information Specialist plays a pivotal role in strengthening Te Tumu Paeroa’s information environment, ensuring our data and records are accurate, accessible, and protected for current and future generations.
You’ll lead the development of resources, standards, and best‑practice processes that enhance the integrity and quality of our information, while championing compliance across the organisation. With responsibility for both digital and physical records, you’ll oversee reporting systems, support informed decision‑making, and manage archiving and disposal in line with the Public Records Act - helping safeguard the knowledge that underpins and advances the mana of Māori land.
The main responsibilities of this role will include:

Developing and improving information management policies, processes, and the roadmap.

Enhancing information capture, sharing, and access, including digitisation and staff record requests.

Monitoring and reporting on compliance with information standards, legislation, and data quality.

Managing archival and disposal of physical and digital records, including schedules and Archives NZ transfers.

Ensuring accurate information sharing and support education, resources, and internal communication.

Providing organisation-wide support and expertise, contributing to IT strategy, training, and ad‑hoc tasks.
He kōrero mōu: What we are looking for:

Minimum 5+ years’ experience in information management, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Information Management degree or equivalent).

Strong working knowledge of the Public Records Act 2005 and best‑practice information management principles.

Understanding of Māori Data Sovereignty and its application in an organisational context.

Well‑developed analytical, problem‑solving, teamwork, and relationship‑building skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and organisational abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience in Dynamics CRM, Business Central, SharePoint, and/or M365 an advantage.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.
