Mangaorapa X is a 360 hectare whenua block near Porangahau in Southern Hawkes Bay, currently used for grazing bulls and sheep.
With the current lease expiring in February we’re seeking applications for a new lease, starting on the 1 March 2021.
The block was promoted on our website, and in newspapers, including Hawkes Bay Today and the CHB Mail. Due to so much interest our Property Specialist Chloe Robinson organised a site visit early in December for prospective tenants to view the whenua.
On the day, it was beautiful, blue-sky and warm, with 12 interested parties attending the site visit at Mangaorapa. Our Rural Advisor, Aaron Hunt started the day with a welcome and a run through of Health and Safety procedures. He then gave a short briefing about the land block history and usage, before the visitors were able to venture off by themselves to explore the whenua on their own bikes, four-wheelers or utes.
Parties have until the 18th December to apply. From there we’ll do an assessment and negotiate with the most suitable party to maximise the potential of the whenua for owners. Factors we’ll consider in the assessment are rental return, proposed whenua improvements and the usage plan for the whenua.
