New look for My Whenua
Ka pū te ruha, ka hao te rangatahi
The old net is cast aside, and the new net goes fishing.
My Whenua has a new look and feel as of today, Monday 6 July. This is the first stage in improving how users access information about their whenua.
Launched in 2014, My Whenua holds information about every block the Māori Trustee administers. It’s where owners can go to see information about their whenua, lease information, upcoming hui or minutes from previous hui, as well as photos and videos.
This first set of changes to the site are designed to make it easier to use, and lay the groundwork for more significant change in the future.
In this initial phase some features haven’t been moved across. Users will no longer find discussion boards, or the opportunity to upload their own images.
As we develop My Whenua we would really like user feedback on the changes, as well as what you would like to see in the future.
Our vision is to create a platform that places whenua at the heart of everything we do. We want it to support owners’ connection to their whenua through increased access to information and empowering shared decision making.
We're keen to know what a future My Whenua app could look like and what would be useful. For example, more detailed maps of the whenua, ability to provide feedback on projects, governance insights, real-time information and monitoring of the whenua.
