We are seeking a Kaitohutohu Tuarā Taonga | Trust Advisor based in Tūranganui-a-Kiwa (Gisborne).

He angitūtanga | About the role:

The Trust Advisor is responsible for managing a portfolio of trusts, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the affairs of each trust within the portfolio and ensuring high standards of service delivery, in the administration of these trusts.

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Act as the primary Te Tumu Paeroa contact for Trustees and owners within your portfolio, facilitating access for staff and key stakeholders.
  • Provide advice and guidance concerning trusts associated with your portfolio, and supporting your Manager, Team Leader and colleagues through complex emerging and realised issues
  • Ensure delivery of meeting outputs, including invitations, documentation and follow-up activities are timely, cohesive and of a high-standard.
  • Prepare, review and/or approve Māori Land Court applications, ensuring they are complete and of a high-standard.
  • Collaborating with Property Specialists/Advisors, Rural Specialists, Legal and other key staff, prepare for and attend Māori Land Court hearings (on behalf of the Māori Trustee), 
  • Ensure delivery of hearing outputs, including invitations, documentation and follow-up activities is timely, cohesive and of a high-standard.
  • Ensure Māori Land Court directions are understood and effectively managed, monitored and delivered. 

He kōrero mou | What we are looking for?

  • At least 3 years of proven experience in a customer service or administration role 
  • A genuine care for customers, with exceptional customer service skills
  • A strong team player, who can collaborate and assist to help the team function well
  • Skills in building and fostering strong internal and external relationships.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good time management and organisation skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience or an understanding of the rural sector is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SharePoint and/or M365 is a plus

Ngā Pae Mōhiotanga Reo Māori

  • Pae Tahi- Te Whakahua | A desire and ability to practise correct pronunciation of Te Reo Māori (essential).

Ngā Pae Mōhiotanga Tikanga Māori

  • Pae Tahi- Nō Ia Rā | An understanding and living of Tikanga Māori on a day-to-day level, for example, the removing of shoes before entering a whare, washing hands at the urupa and not sitting on tables (essential)
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.
